The Red Velvet Boots

I get excited when the seasons change, especially when the leaves start falling and you hear that crisp noise when walking through the park. Winter is my favourite time of year, and a great excuse to go shopping! Thing is, I start planning my winter outfits towards the end of summer and then have to wait ages until I can actually wear it all. This summer I finally purchased my first pair of Kurt Geiger boots. These are the boots I've wanted for nearly two years, but couldn't justify spending money on them whilst still being a student. I thought it was fate when I saw that not only were these still available after so long, but they were also on sale!
Of course I had to buy them, and I'm still convincing myself that I'll get my wear out of them this winter just as long as it doesn't rain or snow. I think the colour of these boots is beautiful and I know they'll match with so many things in my wardrobe! Now that it's just starting to get chilly I've started planning my outfits and they different ways I can wear these lovely KG boots. I've put together a few outfits; some of which include pieces from my own wardrobe and others which are either on my wishlist or just similar to other clothes I have. But either way I hope you get some inspiration from these outfit ideas.
Olive drape back tee Topshop, Leather look leggings River Island, Fur trim cardigan River Island
Floral print tee Topshop, Camel Leigh jeans Topshop, Jersey twill blazer River Island (now out of stock)
Scallop tee Topshop, Camel coat Zara, Leigh jeans Topshop, Fur bag River Island
Monochrome lace dress Dorothy Perkins, Pink faux fur coat Miss Selfridge, Nails by Topshop
As you may have noticed these boots come in two colours, and I also love the royal blue. You can have a look at the ones I bought here. I hope you enjoyed this post, and if any of you guys already have these/end up buying them, I'd love to know what you're wearing them with! xo

The Lush Face Mask

If I say that a pamper evening isn't complete without a Lush face mask, I'm sure you'll all agree. Although I have a few of my favourites I alternate depending on the time of the month and how my skin is feeling. I first tried the Cosmetic Warrior a few years ago when my skin had really bad breakouts when I started uni. After using it continuously I noticed that my spots had improved, and I've used it ever since. Although it doesn't smell great, it works wonders. The garlic and tea tree seem to really help the skin. This is always the first one I'll pick up as soon as I notice small spots and blemishes. Catastrophe Cosmetic is the perfect mask to use if you have oily skin. I like using this product first thing in the morning as it makes your skin feel matte without any shine, and as I get oily skin throughout the day I feel that this helps. It also smells amazing even after it's washed off. I've tried face masks with a similar texture and most of them normally leave my skin feeling tight and a bit dry, although this does everything it says on the packaging. Skin feels smooth and moisturised but the oil disappears. Another one of my favourites is the Brazened Honey. This mask has a sweet but refreshing scent which also lasts after washing it off. It's really good for exfoliating the skin and making it appear brighter. I use this one a lot in the winter when my skin feels tired and more dull than usual. One downside to these masks is the best before date as I don't always manage to finish them when I'm alternating between two. But this mask also works as just a quick exfoliator in the morning which was a handy tip I got from one of the sales assistants, so I've recently been using them up a lot quicker than I normally would have. The most recent one I tried was The Sacred Truth. The ingredients that made me choose this mask were the ginseng, green tea infusion and coconut oil. This mask is perfect for when you need a detox and moisturising treatment for tired skin. It not only does the trick but it smells divine. This mask takes a lot more time to dry up compared to the rest and seems to stay fresh for longer. No wonder Honey the Giraffe managed to find it's way inside the tub (sorry, you're too late Honey). I've tried a couple more but these are the ones I always go back to. And now that I've collected enough tubs to get a free one I think it's time I made a trip to Lush! Which ones are your favourite? I'd love to hear what masks other people like to use, xo

The Moroccan Oil Range

Hi there! So as I mentioned in the introductory post that I would start blogging again, I thought about the one thing I always love reading. And the hair/skincare/beauty product reviews always top the list. I find it really useful seeing what other people think of it before I make a purchase, as in the past I used to waste a lot of money on products that weren't suited to my skin/hair type (I'm sure you've all done the same).

A couple of months ago I bought the Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask, and I noticed a change in my hair after just one use. It seemed more stronger and hydrated and my split ends were nearly disguised. I thought about using the shampoo and oil together to see if it would improve my hair even more. (I've never been one to change to another product when I find something I like.) I started using the repair shampoo and conditioner, which made such a difference. All the products have a light but natural scent to it, and I noticed that using all of these products complimented this scent and made it last until it was next washed. The one thing I dislike the most is greasy hair so I always use minimum product.

Although the moroccan oil is more concentrated than any other I've previously used, I feel like it conditions my hair and softens those dry ends without weighing my hair down. I even noticed that I had to use a lot less shampoo than normal as it foams so well, which means you get a lot more for what you think you're splashing out on, wahey!

The Introduction

I have always been a creative soul for as long as I can remember. But as much as I love sitting in one place and expressing this creativity, I get easily bored and I'm very fidgety! I started a blog back in '09 when I was still in college but I never stuck with it. The past few years I've been so occupied with studying that I never thought about blogging again. My excuse for everything became 'I don't have time'. That is, until I finished uni and graduated with a 2:1 in July. It then hit me that I was no longer a student and life was just about to get that extra bit scarier because I'm now a full time adult. So now with a lot more free time on my hands I thought I would share a few secrets with the blogosphere. Finding the right beauty products to suit your skin/hair type is always tricky, and for a long time I've followed many blogs for advice and safety checks before splashing out, but recently I've been using many products that I'd like to share. I hope this is helpful for each soul that is reading my blog. I'm determined to stick with this blog and hopefully have a bit of fun with it. xo
